A week in Liverpool – Day6

Thursday 7th July 2022

So Boris has finally got the message – “we can’t work with you” – and has decided to resign. Is it a decision when it is inevitable?

Another grey windy morning and Graham was out in his pyjamas after a busy night controlling blood bikes. The 7am emergency was yet another cat looking for care and attention. When Peter moved his boat from the berth next to ours to another ‘long stay’ mooring his cat must have been asleep. It took it’s usual night time meander and then couldn’t find his boat again – but obviously recognised ours so decided to wake us up to help. Initially when we opened the back door, it came in and had a look around, then decided that the middle bed suited it and settled down. Graham picked it up and carried it down the edge pontoon until they got to Peter’s new mooring and put the cat down. It shot in through the cat flap without a word of thanks.

Our last day in Liverpool and all we have planned is a dinner and a show – there’s posh!  We set off at about 4pm and wandered up the Baltic quarter where Graham found a brewery with a tap house. It was a craft brewery so served a little colder than preferable but it was enjoyed none the less. Brenda had a delicious Rhubarb cider.

Then we walked back to the city centre. Dinner was taken at Bakchich on Bold street. We can recommend this Middle Eastern café – restaurant. The food was excellent and the staff were cheerful and helpful. A beer and a cuppa in the North Western spoons and then on to the Royal Court theatre. Shakespeare? No! “Mam! I’m ere!” a 70s disco themed scouse parody of ……    It was very funny. As Boris has decided to leave the building there was a lot of ad-libbing and some extra jokes tonight – much to everyone's delight.

After a terrific show, we wandered back to Jannock at gone 11pm and realised that we have to be up early tomorrow to leave the docks at 8am. That’s hard on Cap’n Jannock who was up a lot last night doing blood bike controlling tasks until dawn.

Cats do that, expect every one to be their servant and no need to thank them
