Easter 2014 Day#1

Saturday 12th April 2014

To turn back facing South again

We arrived at the boat at about midday and spent a couple of hours getting everything sorted, bedding, food and our clothes ready for a two week cruise down to London and onwards onto the Kennet and Avon canal.

Peter, on nb Gecko, wrote in his blog this week that Jannock was looking nice and clean as he passed her on the mooring. He obviously didn’t look that close as she was covered in yellow stains where the pollen from the pussy willow type things that covered the roof. There was also lots of evidence that the Sarahan rain fell here as well.

We moved up through two locks, Sewerage and Lower Side, to wind just below Top Side lock so that we are now pointing South towards London, our destination for Easter.

After descending through the same two locks we moored again at our Bourne End mooring for the night.

A very busy day with not a lot of travelling done. I’ll try and get some pictures to add to the blog posts for the rest of the trip.
